Itimad-ud-Daulah's Tomb

Mehtab Bagh

A lush garden with fruit trees, pools, pavilions and beautiful walkways, located across the Yamuna River, Mehtab Bagh (Moonlight Garden) was originally built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a viewing point for the Taj Mahal. Its layout is that of a charbagh - a Persian-style quadrilateral garden - inspired by the four gardens of paradise in the Quran. Clear, full-moon nights are perfect for witnessing a moonlit reflection of the Taj Mahal in the central octagonal tank.

Akbar’s Tomb, Sikandra
