A trip to the four iconic temples of Haridwar - Chandi Devi temple, the Mansa Devi temple, Bharat Mata mandir and the Daksh Mahadev temple of Kankhal.The temple tour includes the Chandi Devi temple, an ancient hill-top temple known to grant followers their fervent wishes. This is accessible through the ropeway or takes a 45 min trek up a steep stairway. Next is the Mansa Devi Temple which is one vertex of the Siddhapeeth triangle. The two other temples in the itinerary include the Daksha.Mahadev Temple, built in 1810 AD, dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Bharat Mata Mandir, situated in Sapt Sarovar area of Haridwar. Takes 4 hours.

A 820 sq.km forest in the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas.Bristling with bio-diversity, Rajaji national park is a 820 sq.km forest occupying the foothills of the Shivalik Himalayan range. It is home to 3 sanctuaries – Rajaji, Chilla and Motichur. With ravines and streams fed by the rivers Ganges and Song, it is home to elephants, tigers, leopards, deers and ghorals, and nearly 4000 species of birds. A visit requires entry permits.

Har Ki Pauri
The holy ghat where the Ganges touches the plains and the site of the ethereal evening aarti. As dusk sets in at the holy ghat by the Ganges Har Ki Pauri, the evening takes on an ethereal form. The whole atmosphere gets charged with lit earthen lamps, bustling devotees, chants and shlokas by the priests who swing the huge three-tiered brass lamps. The fragrance of incense & flowers and the thrum of the bells & musical instruments create an evening that is spiritually charged. This is the daily evening aarti that draws the faithful in millions.

A charming bazaar on the way to Har Ki Pauri.They say the best place to get a sense of a place’s local life is its bazaar. Moti bazaar is a bustling stretch of shops on Kotwali upper road leading to Har Ki Pauri which gives you a distinctive flavour of Haridwar. Narrow and a kilometer long this market abounds with religious items, street food, rare herbs and brass and wooden articles. (Closed on Wednesdays).
